Always High Quality Products.

Tropicana Roofing, doing the right thing for our clients.

We prefer Owens Corning Residential roofing shingles for their overall quality and asthetics. Owens Corning certifies our shingles to industry recognized wind resistance standards through independent third-party testing laboratories. Owens Corning provides limited warranty coverage on some of our shingles for algae resistance. When properly installed, Owens Corning Roofing Shingles can help reduce your heating and cooling bills. Details available on the Owens Corning website.
We use RhinoRoof underlayment rather than traditional tar or felt paper. RhinoRoof is a highly engineered, mechanically attached, coated woven synthetic roofing underlayment for sloped roofs. RhinoRoof's durable and high strength design along with its fiber grip walking surface provides a considerable improvement over asphalt saturated felt. We prefer RhinoRoof underlayment for its longer lifespan, lighter weight, durability and enhanced water-resistance.
We always use new product(s) when replacing residential roofing. Typically, all of the roofing supplies will be delivered during the morning hours on the construction day. This allows both for you to use your driveway the night before as welll as inspect the new materials prior to use.
Owens Corning SureVent Ridge Vent help improve air flow through the attic. They are flexible enough to conform to virtually any roof slope and have a unique baffle design and Weather PROtector® moisture barrier to help provide outstanding performance. Many slightly older homes were not built with ridge vents, when Tropicana replaces your roof, we will include ridge vents to help your attic stay cooler than before. The ridge vent works in tandem with soffit vents (in the eves) and in some cases, gable vents which are generally less effective as they are dependent on wind flow.
Every job has to a begining and an end. At Tropicana Roofing, we begin with starter strips when we replace the shingles. Starter strips provides a straight edge at the eave and along the rake for a clean look. A starter strip is an asphalt based shingle utilized to waterproof the eave and rake edges of your home during a roof replacement. Starter strips prevent shingle blow off by adhering the field course and the starter course together with a strong adhesive.
The eaves and valleys of your roof need extra protection that shingles alone cannot provide. These are high-risk areas for leaks; valleys which can incur leaks due to improper installation of flashing. By adding a waterproofing membrane to these areas, the chance for penertration by the elements, (specifically water) is greatly reduced.
